With our Hairmineralanalysis we control your hair sample of the following parameters:

  1. 14 minerals, e.g. magnesium, copper or potassium
  2. 14 trace elements, e.g. germanium, bismuth or nickel
  3. 7 heavy metals, e.g. aluminium or quicksilver

According to these values we can show you possible references to the causes of hair loss, metabolism problems, hormonal imbalances or gut health problems.

Article description

Who is this test suitable for?

Are you losing more and more hair and you don’t know why? Do you suffer from constant exhaustion? Do you have the feeling that you can not fully exploit your performance?

Heavy metal exposure (e.g. due to amalgam fillings) or a deficiency of minerals can trigger various everyday complaints. The hair mineral analysis can provide initial indications of a mineral deficiency/surplus or possible exposure to heavy metals. It helps your therapist to obtain indications of which nutrients are needed or which heavy metals can be eliminated in order to achieve optimal performance.

The test includes the following groups.

Minerals:

  • calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium
  • phosphorus, copper, zinc, iron
  • manganese, chromium, selenium, cobalt
  • molybdenum, sulfur

Heavy metals:

  • arsenic, beryllium, mercury
  • cadmium, lead, aluminum
  • uranium

Trace elements:

  • germanium, barium, bismuth, rubidium
  • lithium, nickel, platinum, thallium
  • vanadium, strontium, tin, titanium
  • tungsten, zirconium

How does the test work?

You take the hair sample at home, send it back to us and we send you your result with information about the respective minerals and heavy metals. At the same time, you will find out whether these values are within the corresponding normal range and, above all, whether they are in a healthy relationship to each other.

Note: Please use only hair that has not been dyed, bleached or permed in the last 60 days. This includes natural dyes such as henna.

What does the hair mineral analysis result contain and what happens next?

Your findings contain detailed information on the above-mentioned mineral and heavy metal values and whether they are in a balanced relationship to each other. You can then discuss these results with your doctor or alternative practitioner, who can advise you on how to proceed and on the various therapy options.

What assistance do I get with my results?

Due to the complexity of mineral balance and the variety of effects of heavy metal exposure, we recommend that you discuss your test result with an experienced physician or therapist.

We test for
Hair mineral analysis tests for the following values:
  • Calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium
  • Phosphorus, copper, zinc, iron
  • Manganese, chromium, selenium, cobalt
  • Molybdenum, sulfur
  • Arsenic, beryllium, mercury
  • Cadmium, lead
  • Aluminum, uranium
  • Germanium, Barium, Bismuth, Rubidium
  • Lithium, Nickel, Platinum, Thallium
  • Vanadium, Strontium, Tin, Titanium
  • Tungsten, Zirconium
Calcium to phosphorus ratio (Ca/P)

A too high calcium to phosphorus ratio indicates a slow metabolism.

A Ca/P ratio that is too low, on the other hand, indicates a metabolic profile that is too fast.

Sodium to potassium ratio (Na/K)

The sodium to potassium ratio gives an indication of the state of exhaustion of the adrenal glands.

If the value is high, the adrenal glands may be in a high state of stress, which can lead to exhaustion and associated symptoms (e.g. burnout).

Calcium to potassium ratio (Ca/K)

With a high calcium-to-potassium ratio, the important thyroid hormones can only be poorly absorbed by the body’s cells, which can result in symptoms such as hypothyroidism.

Zinc to copper ratio (Zn/Cu)

A low ratio of the two counterparts zinc and copper indicates copper excess or possibly even copper poisoning. This is accompanied by a variety of health complaints, such as emotional instability, estrogen dominance and hair loss.

Sodium to magnesium ratio (Na/Mg)

The ratio provides information about the activity of the adrenal glands. A high Na/Mg ratio indicates hyperfunction of the adrenal glands, whereas too low a ratio indicates hypofunction of one of the most important glands for hormone production.

Calcium to magnesium ratio (Ca/Mg)

The Ca/Mg ratio is an important indicator in relation to blood glucose regulation. A high value often results in hypoglycemia and associated symptoms such as the “afternoon slump”, food cravings, etc.

Iron to copper ratio (Fe/Cu)

A low Fe/Cu quotient may indicate a relative deficiency of iron and associated symptoms such as anemia.

Do you have any questions?

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions. Is your question not included? Contact us at:

What can hair mineral analyses do and say?

Hair mineral analyses are only screening tests and cannot provide definitive diagnoses in isolation. Our hair mineral analysis provides information about the mineral balance and, if applicable, a heavy metal load and contains nutritional recommendations.

How to regulate the mineral ratios back to the normal range?

There are many connections and dependencies between various minerals and vitamins - for example, zinc, vitamin C and manganese are counterparts of copper. In order to bring individual measurements and mineral ratios back into the normal range, we recommend that you work with an experienced therapist to create a customized therapy plan, including nutritional recommendations and dietary supplements. We will be happy to support you with our large network of doctors and therapists in your search in your area.

What do minerals have to do with hormones?

In order to produce hormones, the body needs minerals as basic building blocks. If there is a deficiency, this also influences hormone production. Conversely, hormones influence the absorption of minerals. A high progesterone level, for example, causes the body to store more copper.

I have hair loss. Can the test help me?

Hair loss can have many causes. One of the most common causes is hidden mineral deficiencies or excesses. Minerals are important building blocks that the body needs to maintain healthy hair (and nails). However, since an overdose of minerals from indiscriminate supplements can have an equally damaging effect, it is important to know exactly which minerals are missing. This is what our test allows you to do. In addition, you will receive information about which foods you should consume more of.

What if I have colored hair?

Dyed or tinted hair is not suitable for hair analysis as it falsifies the result. Please wait at least 60 days after dyeing before taking the hair sample. It can also be assumed that other products such as henna, glossing or silver shampoo can falsify the result. Therefore, we recommend avoiding such products as well. Unfortunately, we cannot make statements about how much which hair product will influence your result due to the large number of different products on the market.
